Job Overview:
The Mess Hall Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals in a high-volume kitchen, ensuring food quality, safety, and cleanliness. This involves creating nutritious and satisfying meals for a large group, adhering to dietary restrictions, and maintaining kitchen operations efficiently.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook three daily meals for workers.
- Check deliveries and ensure correct quantities.
- Follow menus and dietary restrictions.
- Clean, cut, and cook meat, fish, or poultry.
- Store and rotate food supplies.
- Train new employees and supervise kitchen staff.
- Wash cooking equipment and serve meals.
- Manage inventory and requisition supplies.
- Plan and monitor economical menus.
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of large-scale cooking experience.
- Skilled in cooking flavorful dishes.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and communicate effectively.
- Attention to detail and multitasking ability.
- Preferably with food industry experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Pass pre-employment medical.
- Able to work in a high-altitude environment.
